As much as I hate to say it

I think I am going to like this movie. I really enjoyed the first 5 or 6 Stephanie Plum books (Until the Ranger/Morelli/Stepahine love triangle sucked the will to live from me. I mean it's in book seven-freakin-teen now and there is still no resolution to this storyline.) I looks like it's kept the humour and sparkle the first book had and even Katherine Heigl doesn't seem too bad. And I have come around to Jason O'Mara, mainly because I love him in Terra Nova.

So the age old question is..I can't remeber much detail in the books, should I go back and re-read them before the film or should I wait until after. I think I will enjoy this movie more if I wait until after, but if I am hazy on the details then I will spend the whole time while watching the movie thinking 'did that happen in the books,' or 'have they changed that??'

Whadaya think??

The love triangle thing didn't bother me though 17 books and no resolution is a bit stupid. I gave up when the plots become beyond stupid, oh and the supernatural element was introduced.

I would wait and read the books later. Enjoy it for being a silly action film and not be thinking that they changed everything. That is what I am doing, it has been awhile since I read the first books so I can remember the plot but none of the details.

I remember reading that Desiel was going to get his own series.

I also remember there being a really creepy protagonist in the first few books and I am wondering if they will stick with that or lighten the whole thing up. Not that it matters, you're right it's just a silly action comedy that I probably will enjoy regardless. Popcorn for the eyes.

Oh goody, just what the world needs.

I am not really sure what they will do with Benito, he doesn't exactly fit into the light hearted-funny-comedy-action-romp. I would rather they cut him out completly than make stalking and rape funny.

I was a bit iffy about it at first because of the casting but the trailers are quite funny so I think it will be okay. I just ... why Heigl? I'm not even touching on the casting of Joe and Ranger

I know right? I think it was a case of she said yes and they were 'let's go'. I'm sure I read somewhere it's been in development for years with loads of different actresses attached. I'm sure Reese Witherspoon was lined up to play her at one point.

I can't see Reese Witherspoon in that role. I don't know who I would have picked, it is just Hiegl bugs me and keeps making these bad films. I am trying hard to reserve judgement because I would honestly be on board with them making all the books into films just for the hell of it.

I know, it's a hard role to fill I think, cause she's kind of ditzy but also a little street smart and sexy. I think Snadra Bullock 10 years ago would have been my choice. But she's too old now...shame. I love me some Sandra Bullock! YAY! OMG I might do Parctical Magic for the next round of Adapted... :)

I loved Heigl in Roswell but I have heard so many bad things about her and her film choices, as you have said, have not been great so hopefully she has hit it out of the ballpark and this won't just fizzle.

I could see that! That would have actually worked too.

aw Practical Magic is such a feel good film. I can't beleive how much better the film is than the book.

Aww, Roswell. I still like that show though season 3 doesn't exist lalalala. I quite liked her in Grey's Anatomy too, at least the seasons I watched. I think ti was just that run of really bad films and she was just everywhere for a few years.
